Devotional: An Answer to Prayer (Part 2)

Sometimes "traveling mercies" means something different from a smooth trip.

When Claudia was returning home after a missionary trip to the Philipines, her trip home seemed to have gone terribly wrong. Yet, God showed He was working through the difficulties that arose.  Part one here.

While I was still at the airport, I met a Muslim lady from Saudi Arabia. We spoke for many hours, and I had the opportunity to share about God's love and His Word.

Finally, at 5:00 pm I decided to go back to the church in Interville. On the way there, the Uber driver and I started talking. He told me he was Catholic, and we talked about the good news of Jesus Christ. Also in the car was a flight attendant who was carpooling with me. We started talking about the Sabbath, health reform, the history of our church and about the cross. When I told her my experience at the airport, she told me that she has worked at airports for many years but had never seen someone help another person who missed their flight like that. "God really worked with you all," she said.

She told me she normally never carpools, but that this time she did. "I think God had purposed for me to meet you here and to hear the truth of God through you, Miss Claudia," she said.

Finally, we exchanged our contact information in order to continue our conversation and took some pictures together. I came to the conclusion that I missed my flight because God wanted me to meet these four precious souls.

At night, I prayed again. I told God about how all of my clothes were already worn, and I had nothing clean to wear in the days before my flight. I left it in His hands to help me. The next day, I was once again blessed. A kind woman who wished to remain unnamed sent me a blessing, including dresses that I could wear in the following days.

I am once again feeling so blessed as families and brethren have helped me in my time here, sharing God's blessings. I am sure God will bless them greatly.

Even though I missed my flight, I was really happy because I realized God had a plan for me to meet souls that were prepared to hear the precious Word of God. As the Bible says, "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to [his] purpose" Romans 8:28

I have finished my mission in the Philippines. I was really happy and have so many good memories from doing missionary work there.

To God be the glory. My experience showed me that God is good all the time and testified to the promises that God has given us.

"For with God nothing shall be impossible," Luke 1:37.

"What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them," Mark 11:24

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you," Matthew 6:33.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go,” Joshua 1:9.

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world,” Matthew 28:20.

Praise God and to Him be the glory.
