Taravao, French Polynesia—On August 5, 2021, the brethren in the French Polynesian Field were finally able to hold their reorganization meeting after a delay due to the pandemic. The meetings were held at the Taravao Church located on the island of Tahiti, with representatives from the various islands.

Due to travel restrictions, the GC Regional Secretary was unable to participate. In his place, Brother David Zic, GC Education Department Director, conducted the delegation session. The reports from the churches and officers showed that there is great work still to be done in the proclamation of the Present Truth throughout the 118 inhabited islands of this overseas collectivity of France. The brethren left the delegation encouraged to go forward in this work.

One of the highlights of the delegation was the approval of two candidates for ordination. The following Sabbath, members gathered to witness the ordination ceremony. The following week, Brother Zic traveled with the newly ordained elders to the various churches to conduct the communion service.

French Polynesia is a heavily tourist-based economy. If the opportunity arises, and you are visiting, the brethren and sisters here will happily receive and fellowship with you. If you cannot come in person, please keep the work in these islands in your prayers.
