For three days, November 13–15, 2020, musicians from around the world were united at a virtual Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement Musicians’ Convention via Zoom.

“For three days, November 13–15, 2020, musicians from around the world were united at a virtual Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement Musicians’ Convention via Zoom. This event brought together musicians of all levels to learn from, encourage, and motivate each other. Uplifting spiritual messages, experiences, and discussions were presented, which touched and united hearts around the globe. The spiritual messages showed God’s great love for sacred music and songs, while the experiences showed how God can lead, guide, and develop talent in extraordinary ways when we place our trust in Him. Discussion panels at the end of each day provided an opportunity to learn more about growing and developing as musicians, professionally recording music, and implementing programs and events at local and national levels. Translation was provided in Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, and German to allow persons around the world to participate in this unique event.” Paul Michael Balbach.

“The online international music convention was such a blessing for me! As a musician, I love having a platform to express and share my love of music with other friends from church! Due to the current pandemic, an event of this kind was not possible to attend in person. Thankfully, however, we were still able to meet virtually and share experiences, give advice, and praise God together!” Bianca Sirbu.

“The Musicians’ Convention was a unique and blessed experience. It was inspiring to listen to experiences from musicians from all over the world! It’s amazing to think that with the multiple languages that were used throughout the convention, the common language was music, which is what brought us all together in the first place. I praise the Lord for the opportunity to meet and connect with musicians that praise and glorify Him through their music!” Karina Espinal.

“The online Musicians’ Convention was a positive blessing to me, as I’m sure it was to many others as well. In a time when hope is sparse, it was so uplifting to hear the courageous stories of fellow musicians who have fought against all odds to keep their art alive. What was especially inspiring is that everyone is seeking to honor God while improving their talents. After the weekend, it brought me joy to know that there are musicians all around the world with similar struggles as I have--fellow musicians who continue to appreciate the importance of music and are successful in their vision and dedication to it. Because a musician will always be a musician at heart, God planted that passion in our hearts. A profession to last for eternity!” Bethany Muresan.

“This moment shared with the brothers and sisters was important insofar as music has a very important place in the sacred services of the church. It is also urgent that all to whom God has given the gift of music, take the time to study in depth the secret powers of music so that the Holy Spirit may grant us the discernment to avoid bringing strange fire into the sanctuary.” Bruno Adin.

“Inspiring, educational, and exciting! This is how I would describe the musicians’ convention. The highlights for me were hearing the testimonies that other people shared about their challenges as musicians and how they were able to overcome them with God’s help. One of my favorite sessions included the panel that shared about their experiences on how to work in music ministry and what inspired their desire to serve in this particular way. Everyone has been given unique talents and abilities and it is exciting to be reminded of the plans that God has for us if we are brave enough to trust Him and go where He leads.” Daniela Balarezo.

“Knowing this was an event that had been carefully planned and organized, sure, I knew it would be good. But I never dreamed it would be the amazingly tremendous boost that it was! Every single moment captivated my interest. The testimonies of the musicians were so heartwarming. I could relate so closely to every single one! We deeply understand and support one another in our mutual aim. The whole experience made me realize more than ever before, how eagerly God wants to see the precious talent of music cultivated in all those whom He entrusts with this gift and provides for its development. In reality, it typically requires many hours, days, months, and years of sweat alone in the practice room to produce even one drop of truly great beauty. But our Creator is glorified when such toil is humbly, genuinely, entirely dedicated to His honor. Especially when enhanced by the determination to keep holy His sanctified Sabbath day in an unbelieving world, it brings forth the type of praise that will indeed resonate throughout eternity. Fellow musicians can surely echo the declaration that, yes, it’s all worth it!” Barbara Montrose.

“What a blessing this event was! How often we are spiritually uplifted through the sacred music presented during worship. What I personally discovered in this event was that the majority of the musicians had fought real battles in keeping the Sabbath and the law of God and pursuing their musical aspirations. We are all looking forward with hope and faith for the blessed times when we will all play and sing for the glory of God in the most perfect harmony in the universe.” Septimiu D. Muresan.

“I am very pleased that this international online music conference was held. It was very encouraging to listen to the experiences of my fellow musicians and it was so good to see musicians from all continents. It was uplifting to know that in spite of many nationalities we have a common language, a world of sounds. We received a lot of encouragement from the experiences of the prepared presenters, and they also provided us with advice on the musical mission, such as organizing events and individual endeavors in mission work. I hope there will be similar occasions. May the Lord bless the musical mission programs and help His children so that we can provide the highest level of quality that we can, both professionally and spiritually. ‘And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’ Matthew 25:20, 21.” Oliver Toth.

“Dear musician, if you enjoyed this event, will you be part of the greatest song to ever be played or sung? God is the greatest Musician, Conductor, and Music Artist of all time, and has been producing music from ages past. Yet God is longing to conduct a new song, a song that has never been sung, and He wants you to be a part of it. Revelation 14:3 says that this great choir will sing a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God and before the four living beings and the twenty-four elders. No one will be able to learn this song except the 144,000 redeemed from the earth in the last days. At this time, each musician will be holding a golden harp as they play and sing in the greatest song ever sung, the song of Moses and the Lamb. (Revelation 15:2, 3.) Will you be there?” Paul Michael Balbach.
