This year our brethren in Rovinj, Croatia rented a room in the city's culture house for four public health lectures to be held throughout the first part of 2016. The first two lectures were held on February 24 and 25 on "Food acidity and its influence on the organism" and "Protein and Inflammation". Pastor and nutritionist from the Italian Field, Brother Abel Morales, delivered the messsages.
The audience learned about the critical links that exist between what we consume and how our body performs and feels. Prevention of disease, nutrition tips, and healthy eating practices were emphasized throughout the lectures.
There were approximately 150 individuals present for those first two meetings. After the lecture, the attendees had the opportunity to meet with the speaker for one-on-one nutritionist consultation.
By the grace of God and the help of brethren in the medical-missionary departments, cooking classes and presentations on the eight health principles were begun in March. The classes are held in smaller and more personal groups of 5-6 people. Approximately 25-30 people have registered for these 8 session courses.
The other two health lectures were performed on June 7 and 8. This time, the lectures were on "How to increase physical endurance" and "How to boost brain health", in which Brother Morales spoke about how a sedentary lifestyle, eating foods that promote free radicals and animal fats, are noteworthy causes behind the health problems of our modern age.
During the June lectures, 10 new interested individuals registered for the cooking class and health principles course. Through these meetings, the brethren in Croatia have been able to reach souls from various parts of their community.
Visitors to these health talks greatly anticipate future lectures. We are grateful to the Italian field for their support at these events. The Lord be praised, for the people have already begun to put into practice the advices and treatments they have learned, and are also listening to the spiritual principles that we are privileged to share with them after each talk.
