The African Region
Mission in Action — adapted from the report of Manuel Henda
The African Region@Good Training—Good Results!

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ with Romans 10:13–15, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”

In order to be sent, it is necessary to get training. After this you can answer the question, “Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8).

From August 17–September 10, 2014, the African seminar for leaders and Bible workers was held in Angola. Many countries were represented and the brethren from the GC, together with some from Brazil, were teachers. It was a wonderful seminar; everyone who took part came back greatly encouraged; the event left happy memories in Angola and beyond.

Since that time, we have been receiving good news as a result of this seminar; for example, the development of God’s work in Madagascar.

As many may be aware, Madagascar is the dream site of nature and outdoor enthusiasts. Home to thousands of animal species found nowhere else on earth, this beautiful and exotic island nation has a human population of over 22 million. Various forms of traditional and ancestor worship are common, although nearly half of the people profess Christianity.

After attending the African seminar, our brother from Madagascar was pleased to declare, “In this country only my wife, my children, and I are interested in the Reform Movement church—and sometimes my family discourages me from continuing to worship alone. But now I have material and understanding to preach the gospel and enable the Lord’s work here to expand.”

Then after 6 months, we received news that in Madagascar many souls are joining the Reform Movement. In June, one of our ministers went to this country and baptized 45 souls—so the mission in Madagascar was organized as a fruit of this seminar. Praise be to God!
