With autumn’s arrival, the southern region of the SDARM German Conference came alive through hymns of praise and worship offered for the glory of God.
The Romanian SDARM Orchestra, directed by Brethren Corneliu Barbu and Öz Luis and managed by Sister Ramona Mocanu, travels across Europe to bring worship through music to different regions.
On October 3, over sixty musicians and company, traveled over twelve hours in a caravan of more than ten vehicles from Romania to the church in Landshut, Germany. The church courtyard buzzed like a beehive, filled with the energy of participants, who were warmly welcomed by members from the surrounding region for a special “Concert and Health Seminar” event.
On Friday, the concert hall resounded with rehearsals in preparation for the eagerly anticipated evening concert, which opened the Sabbath. Afterward, Dr. Emil Barbu gave a lecture on the effects of music on the human body.
The Sabbath was beautiful, infused with the spirit that uplifts the soul heavenward. After Sabbath School, a health presentation on “Music and Physical Health” took place, followed by lunch. Then, the hall filled with guests who had traveled hundreds of kilometers to experience what felt like a glimpse of heaven, perfectly timed for the day’s main concert.
Every hymn, every note, and every instrument’s sound captivated the audience, carrying them into a beautiful vision—a dream of a restored Eden, where praise and song will be the main occupations. Young and old, church members and visitors alike, were deeply moved by the devotion of the musicians. The message of the concert filled everyone present with spiritual energy.
The event’s highlight came when, at the conductors’ invitation, the children in the audience were welcomed into the orchestra, seating themselves beside their preferred instruments. This moment powerfully fulfilled the goal of inspiring children to cherish praising God.
Joy and peace were evident on the faces of those present. The spiritual encouragement they experienced that Sabbath evening will always be remembered, along with a renewed longing to gather once again in a new form, adorned with a new garment, holding an instrument, and singing praises to God in His presence.
On Sunday, the visitors had the opportunity to visit a museum in Munich to admire historical musical instruments, ending the day with a fellowship meal.
We thank the Lord for this musical visit by our brethren from Romania, for the dedication of those who organized the trip, and for the parents who make special efforts to guide their children toward such accomplishments. With God’s protection, the return journey ended safely.
Though they are now far away, these gifted individuals remain close in our hearts and prayers. “Lord, keep them near You, for through them, we feel closer to You”—this is our prayer from those who heard them. Amen!
