Itú, São Paulo, Brazil—The South Brazilian Union of the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement held its first Women’s Conference from May 1-4, 2025. Held at the Union’s headquarters, in a lush and welcoming natural setting, the event was prepared and led by Sister Raquel Lage Morais Fernandes the director of the Union’s Women’s Ministries Department.
Under the inspiring theme “Transform Me and Use Me”, the conference brought together around 300 women yearning for a deeper experience with God. And the Lord, in His infinite grace, made Himself visible in every detail. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit, allowing each participant to experience a personal and transforming encounter with the Creator.
Spiritual Connection Through God’s Creation
One of the highlights that made this conference even more special was the integration with the location’s stunning nature. Morning devotionals were held in fifteen distinct groups, spread out among the greenery, providing moments of reflection and communion with God. The direct contact with God’s creation deepened the spiritual experience each morning.
Relevant and Empowering Messages
The event featured inspiring speakers who shared powerful and relevant messages for the spiritual growth of Christian women in every area of life. We had the privilege of receiving Sister Lázara Tenório, who shared encouraging words about the power of transformation; Sister Sara Devai, who presented valuable perspectives on the place of transformation; psychologist, Sister Faíla Thomé, addressed crucial topics related to mental and emotional health; psychologist Sister Vivian Wittmann offered deep and edifying reflections; and Sister Raquel Lage herself shared her own experience with God and her passion for the Lord’s work. The physical health topics were covered by Dr. Carolina Sette and nutritionist Angélica Dutra, who provided valuable guidance for a healthier life.
Each lecture, each message, was carefully planned to lead the participants to a deeper level of intimacy with God. The Holy Spirit ministered to hearts in a tangible way, and testimonies of healing, deliverance, and spiritual renewal multiplied over the four days. True miracles were witnessed, strengthening faith and the conviction of God’s transforming power.
On Saturday night, the conference culminated in a powerful vigil, when God’s presence was felt in deep and meaningful ways. Through prayer, praise, and testimonies, the women present experienced a moving of the Holy Spirit that deeply touched their hearts, sealing the blessings received throughout the event.
The conference experience was enriched by a special and healthy diet, carefully prepared by chef and nutritionist Edmar Damasceno and his team: Brethren Alex Konrat, Elisson Dutra, Elias Ramos, Antônio Cardoso, Jonatan da Silva, Cristyan Cometti, and Zenildo Alves — a testimony to the care shown in every detail.
The conference closed with moments of deep emotion and celebration. With joy, we witnessed the baptism of dear Sister Regiane Cuenga, a public testimony of her decision to follow Christ. In addition, we welcomed Pastor Eli Tenório, President of the General Conference, along with seven other pastors, who led a solemn and inspiring communion service, in which 250 women participated, reaffirming their commitment to the Lord.
Sister Raquel Lage expressed her deep gratitude to God, to her husband Oziel Fernandes for his support and partnership, and to the dedicated team of directors of the South Brazilian Union Women’s Ministries Department — Lílian Gessner, Ozineide Caires, Rúbia Konrat, Lila Lage, Silvana Lage, Talita Luz, Mônica Souza, Kléia Souza, and Marilete Campos — committed and tireless women who invested time and energy in the impeccable organization of the conference, working hard so that every detail was prepared with love and care for the sisters. She also expressed gratitude to the tireless decoration, cleaning, audiovisual, and media teams.
The success of this first women’s conference is living proof of divine guidance at every step, from the preparations to the closing of the event. More than just a gathering, it was a spiritual milestone, and the fruits of transformation and revival — experienced amidst the beauty of creation and the powerful divine manifestation during the vigil — are already being reaped, to the glory of God. The South Brazilian Union praises the Lord for this special event and the lasting impact of this conference.
