December 2025
Dear Reform Movement family,
The year 2025 has drawn to a close, and we pause to reflect on the Lord’s faithfulness, mercy, and sustaining power throughout this year. The journey has not been without trials, but God has sustained us, and His promises have stood firm and unshaken. Once again, with the prophet Samuel, we can say: “Hitherto hath the Lord helped us” (1 Samuel 7:12). Truly, the Lord has been our Source of strength and help.
This year marked a special milestone for our Reform Movement family: one hundred years of history for our church. What began as a small group of believers determined to let their light shine amid the world’s darkest hours has now spread across many nations. Today, our congregations continue to share the hope and light of the Gospel in communities across the globe.
Yet, as we look around us, we recognize that we live in perilous times. Evil has always been present in this world’s history, however, what makes our century especially dangerous, is the abundance and comfort that lull so many into a false sense of security. In many nations, we enjoy prosperity and freedom of worship, along with unparalleled access to the Bible, Sabbath School lessons, and Spirit of Prophecy. Yet how easily these blessings are neglected. Truly, prophecy is being fulfilled: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matthew 24:12).
How then shall we face the coming year? Not in fear, but in faith. The apostle Paul encourages us: “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me” (Philippians 3:12). Let us not be discouraged by past failures, but press forward, drawing nearer to God in daily prayer and Bible study. Even if we have stumbled in the past, let us begin again today. May our resolutions be simple: by God’s grace, to grow through daily communion with Him.
And as we come closer to Christ, let us not keep His light to ourselves. Each of us has a part to play in reflecting His character in our families, our congregations, our communities. Christ is waiting for His character to be reproduced in His people. Let us ask Him to make us better spouses, parents, children, members, and neighbors, that His love may be seen in each of us individually and as a people.
Sister Ellen White reminds us: “We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and His teaching in our past history” (9T 10.3). Indeed, we were born in this time for a purpose. Let us recommit ourselves to the sacred mission entrusted to us: to proclaim an everlasting gospel and uplift the standards of God’s Word.
I pray that 2026 will be a year when we experience closeness to the Lord as never before, and, together, arise and shine, reflecting Christ’s image more fully and serving Him more faithfully.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with each one of you. May your homes be filled with peace, and your hearts with hope.
Yours in the Blessed Hope,
Brother Eli Tenorio
