PLC is very happy to announce our first brand new certification program! From the start of PLC on the Moriah Heights campus in California we have provided the opportunity for those interested in evangelism to receive the Accelerated Evangelism Program certification. That program extended when we added the campus in Wolfern, Austria. Now with the move to our new campus at the GC Education Center in Roanoke, Virginia, we have the opportunity to expand the educational opportunities provided by PLC.
Starting this year, concurrent with the Accelerated Evangelism Program (AEP) we will be offering a Music Ministry Certificate. Those who register for this program will take all the core classes in evangelism from the AEP program while also taking classes in music ministry with the opportunity to develop their musical skills.
This program was made possible because of planning and coordination done by the General Conference Music Department. Pr. Aaron Quispe, the Department Director, has organized and planned the program and its curriculum. The Music Department was just created at the last GC Session in 2025 and it already has had a large impact on the mission of the SDARM worldwide, from producing hymnbooks in new languages to conducting intense educational programs in various countries, to launching this educational initiative with PLC.
Music has been a central instrument in Biblical worship and evangelism (2 Chronicles 20:21–22; Colossians 3:16). In the Adventist Reform Movement context, music fulfills a doctrinal, spiritual, and missionary function. This program seeks to train theologian-musicians who use music as a tool to proclaim the Three Angels’ Messages (Revelation 14:6–12).
The general objective is to train theology students to develop musical, spiritual, and missionary competencies in order to use music as a means of evangelism and church edification.
Specific objectives include:
- Develop basic and advanced vocal and instrumental skills.
- Form Biblical criteria regarding worship and music.
- Train students in congregational music leadership.
- Prepare musical teams for evangelistic campaigns.
- Encourage composition with a distinct Reform identity.
- Integrate music into urban and rural missionary projects.
Graduates will be able to:
- Lead congregational music with Biblical foundations
- Organize music ministries in local churches
- Use music as an evangelistic tool
- Compose music with doctrinal identity
- Integrate music and preaching in public campaigns
Applications are now open for all who wish to take their musical talents and truly dedicate them to the advancement of the Gospel Message.
