On August 10, 2026, a powerful earthquake struck Colombia. Its epicenter was located near San José del Palmar, Chocó. The 7.4 magnitude quake shook the country, taking the lives of hundreds, injuring thousands, and leaving many more severely affected.

We thank the Lord for His continued mercy towards His people. Fortunately, we can confirm that our members have not been directly affected during this crisis. Currently, our brethren have mobilized to offer much needed assistance to the affected communities.

Our response will be in three parts and adapted to the needs on the ground.

Immediate response: water, food, hygiene, and shelter (First 7-14 days).

Family Assistance: Family basic necessity kits and temporary shelter (Weeks 2-8).

Recovery: Community support and rebuilding (Months 2-6, subject to assessment.)

Where will we serve:

  1. Chocó and Quibdó – communities near the epicenter
  2. Cali and Valle del Cauca – affected families and municipalities.
  3. Coffee Region – Perreira, Manizales, Armenia, and surrounding areas.

Immediate needs include water and food supplies, hygiene kits, blankets and sleeping mats, first-aid supplies, essential items for children, transportation and distribution.

We will also be serving those who are on the search and rescue teams with food and hydration, lighting and batteries, basic personal protective equipment, and logitistical support and transportation. This will be done in coordination with authorities and qualified response teams.

If you’d like to help expand these efforts, please consider contributing to the Colombian Union’s Welfare Relief Fund. Every donation goes to the official Union account, and the resources are traceable from receipt to use. Each expense is recorded with evidence of distribution. Thank you for your contribution. May God bless you abundantly.
