The purpose of the Missionary Department is to develop evangelistic outreach programs for nonmembers in all units of the General Conference. These programs are to involve and train both employed workers and lay members alike. However, its main goal is to involve lay members in missionary activities.
The Missionary Department is also responsible for the placement of workers in foreign fields that have been organized by the General Conference Executive Committee.
