A Fresh Face, a Vibrant Heart
D. Sureshkumar

Yes, you’re right - the Reformation Herald has a new look. It’s a fresh, new smile with the same warm heart, pulsing with love for God and humanity. Our motto remains the same: “The age in which we live calls for reformatory action.”1 To uplift the standards of faith as taught in the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, to present deep, thought-provoking articles that strengthen Christian character amidst the trials of this late hour of earth’s history, and to refresh and invigorate earnest believers who “desire a better country, that is, an heavenly” (Hebrews 11:16) - these are our goals.

As by faith we each step out from the mindset of the world and its alluring entrapments, our love for Christ grows. We see Him more clearly, we discern His ways more distinctly. Just as Abraham was called to leave the land of his upbringing, so we all need to step forward, away from whatever hereditary and cultivated habits and thought patterns may have tended to drag us downward.

Yet, at the same time, as we come up to higher ground, there also blossoms in our heart a stronger yearning to share more of this glorious present truth with others. Every day we encounter persons wallowing in the same dark pit from which we ourselves have been dug (Isaiah 51:1), people whom Christ loves every bit as much as He loves us, souls whom He is eagerly seeking to reach with the precious boon of spiritual victory and eternal life.

For that reason, you will notice that the Reformation Herald is becoming more and more practical in its approach, with some articles that can be easily understood and hence shared as “milk” with persons having little or no actual experience in the three angels’ messages. So, this publication is now a more effective missionary tool! Regular features on interesting topics will consistently be provided, and you may find that you will be able to depend on some of these feature articles as valuable resources in your outreach efforts.

At the same time, just as the Master Teacher was able to reach all types and ages of people simultaneously in His discourses, in our goal to help spiritual “babes,” we still do not want to neglect our long-time, loyal audience. For decades our readers have truly cherished the rich spiritual food which the Reformation Herald has faithfully provided for those who appreciate that “strong meat [which] belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14). So now, in one neat, attractive package we are seeking to present the best of both worlds, and on a more frequent basis.

“Our church members are to arise and shine because their light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon them. Let those who know the truth arouse out of sleep, and make every effort to reach the people where they are. The work of the Lord must no longer be neglected by us, and made secondary to worldly interests. We have no time to be idle or discouraged. The gospel is to be proclaimed to all the world. The publications containing the light of present truth are to go forth to all places.”2 May the Lord guide and bless the efforts of us all to spread this current, practical, and timely good news!
