Dear brethren of our global church,
Greetings with Psalms 36:7, 9: “How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.”
As the New Year approaches, the Medical Missionary Department of the General Conference is planning to launch a special Health Awareness Sabbath on January 11, 2020. The purpose of this Sabbath is to encourage our members to renew their commitment to the health message by practicing healthy lifestyle habits and by sharing this special message with others.
“Our very bodies are not our own, to treat as we please, to cripple by habits that lead to decay, making it impossible to render to God perfect service. Our lives and all our faculties belong to him. He is caring for us every moment; he keeps the living machinery in action; if we were left to run it for one moment, we should die. We are absolutely dependent upon God.” Healthful Living, pp.11, 12.
We would like you to join us in listening to sermons and lectures on health on that special Sabbath. At the beginning of this New Year, let us recommit our physical, mental and spiritual health to our Creator and Redeemer. Why not ask Him, Who is the fountain of life, to give us the power to follow the healthy lifestyle habits He has outlined for us? If we are willing, He will give us the willpower to follow through on our commitments.
