The second part of a message by Brother Davi P. Silva on the topic of Christ's last hours before His death for us. "As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit.” {DA 83.4}

"...in the contemplation of Him, self will be forgotten. Love to Christ will be the spring of action. Those who feel the constraining love of God, do not ask how little may be given to meet the requirements of God; they do not ask for the lowest standard, but aim at perfect conformity to the will of their Redeemer." {Steps to Christ 45}

“It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. If we would be saved, at last, we must learn the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the cross.”  {DA 83.4}

Flu season is officially upon us. Here are some natural ways to prevent and to treat the common cold.

Flu season is officially upon us. With cooler weather and shorter days, we tend to spend more times indoors and out of the sun. This allows viruses to be spread.  What makes colds and cases of flu more prevalent is not merely the increase in the exposure to viruses, but also a decrease in our immune system’s strength, largely due to lower Vitamin D levels (due to less sunlight).

We've all heard of the word “germ”. But what is a germ? Actually, "germ" is a generic term that refers to micro-organisms that cause diseases. We've found out what a virus is last week. This week, what are bacteria?

Bacteria are microorganisms that come in different shapes and sizes. Some are round, oval, spiral, or rod-shaped. Some are friendly and help their host, while others are aggressive and pathogenic. Bacteria are different then viruses in that bacteria can live in soil, water, and on plants. In fact, bacteria are present in the stratosphere, earth’s crust, and deepest ocean floor. Bacteria, unlike viruses, do not require a living organism to feed off of in order to survive.
