In Eden

The first reference to clothing in the word of God is recorded in Genesis 2:25: "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed."

Perhaps you may be thinking, "This text does not speak about clothing, but about nudity!" Just a moment! What type of clothing characterized the first couple before sin?

We can set ourselves up for failure or success by the way we habitually think and act.  Here are a few common vices that tend to poison our mind: criticism, complaining, and worry. Harboring these vices weakens our family, church, and society. By eliminating these traits, our emotional intelligence improves and so does our temporal and eternal success.

Stress affects us all in various ways. Many stressful events are beyond our control. However, we can set ourselves up for failure or success by the way we habitually think and act. Here are a few common vices that tend to poison our mind: criticism, complaining, and worry. Harboring these vices weakens our family, church, and society. By eliminating these traits, our emotional intelligence improves and so does our temporal and eternal success.

"Justification is wholly of grace and not procured by any works that fallen man can do.” —Faith and Works, p. 20. “While we are to be in harmony with God's law, we are not saved by the works of the law, yet we cannot be saved without obedience.” —Faith and Works, pp. 95, 96.

We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

Sometimes "traveling mercies" means something different from a smooth trip.

When Claudia was returning home after a missionary trip to the Philipines, her trip home seemed to have gone terribly wrong. Yet, God showed He was working through the difficulties that arose.  Part one here.

While I was still at the airport, I met a Muslim lady from Saudi Arabia. We spoke for many hours, and I had the opportunity to share about God's love and His Word.

Peter and Paul in Antioch and learning that "the grace of Christ is essential every day. His matchless grace alone can save our feet from falling,” (The Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 6, pp. 1108, 1109).

"Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; and was unknown by face unto the churches of Judea which were in Christ: but they had heard only, that he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. And they glorified God in me," Galatians 1:20-24.
