Brother Ruffo Lopez Has Passed Away

Eli Tenorio da Silva
January 31, 2018
It is with sadness that we come to inform you of the passing of Brother Ruffo Lopez who served as Treasurer (1991-1999) and Auditor (1999 - 2003) of the General Conference.

Dear SDARM Church family around the world,

Accept our warm greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus, with Isaiah 57:1, 2:

“The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

“He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.”

It is with sadness that we come to inform you of the passing of Brother Ruffo Lopez who served as Treasurer (1991-1999) and Auditor (1999 - 2003) of the General Conference.

Brother Lopez was baptized on December 30, 1984 and was living in Ecuador when he died on January 30, 2018, at 11:30 a.m., at the age of 75.

One more of God’s soldiers is now resting and awaiting his crown of victory to be received when our Lord returns.

Brother Ruffo Lopez will always be remembered by those who had the privilege of working with him at the GC headquarters. He was well respected for his efficiency and dedication to God’s work as well as his love for the truth with which the Lord entrusted him.

We pray that God will comfort the mourning family and give them all the strength they need to continue looking forward to the day when:

“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it,” Isaiah 25:8.

On that day, by God's grace, we will meet Brother Lopez again and those faithful ones who did not have the privilege of meeting him in person, will then be given this privilege.

“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

“And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

“Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me,” Job 19:25-25.

With Christian love, yours in the Blessed Hope,

Eli Tenorio da Silva, SDARM GC Secretary
