On Sabbath, August 20, the brethren in our church in Temple Hills, Maryland visited an Assisted Living facility located near the church as part of their missionary Sabbath activity. The visit was well received and brought many smiles to the local residents, as well as was a blessing to our own church family. Our brethren from New Jersey joined in this wonderful worship. October 1 is a day dedicated to music and musicians and was named "International Music Day" by the International Music Council. Thus, on October 1, 2016, our churches around the world had the opportunity to participate in a special Sabbath dedicated to music and musicians prepared by the General Conference Music Committee. Our brethren in Quito, Ecuador participated with the sermon and study prepared by the GC Music Committee, and with several praise items.
The General Conference Annual Council took place from September 22-October 5, 2016. Council members from all over the world met in California, USA representing their respective regions during the council session.
This council was an administrative council, during which the department leaders and regional secretaries presented their reports of what was done in the past year and what they plan to do in the upcoming year. Then the council made plans for developing the work in new areas, as well as discussed the best way to help new missions.
On October 1, 2016, many Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement Churches around the world held a special Sabbath of music under the initiative of the GC Music Committee. The sermon, afternoon study, and videos prepared by the committee made up the Sabbath program, together with various musical items.
In Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, the brethren took the opportunity to make the day even more special by engaging the youth with musical items, church preparations, and treats.
