On November 19, 2016, the Portuguese Field's Evangelism Department held a smoking cessation campaign in the city of Almada, Portugal.

"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live," Deuteronomy 30:19.

On November 19, 2016, the Portuguese Field's Evangelism Department held an evangelistic project in the city of Almada, Portugal. The project consisted of a smoking cessation campaign two days after No Smoking Day (November 17, 2016), a day in which individuals were encouraged to quit smoking. The American Cancer Society, for example, held The Great American Smokeout on November 17 in an effort to get smokers to stop smoking.

The brethren from the church in Almada, as well as brethren from the Portimão church, spent time during that afternoon distributing literature and raising awareness about the dangers of smoking, offering resources on how to quit, and encouraging everyone, especially the youth, to stay away from tobacco. In one hour, 435 pamphlets had been distributed.

We thank everyone who participated and pray that the information sown that afternoon may change the lives of those who accepted its message.
