Cluj, Romania Church's 20th Anniversary

In Cluj Napoca, the second biggest city in the country, our church members gathered to thank the Lord once again for providing their beautiful and spacious church. The opening date was December 17, 1995, when this house was first dedicated to the worship of our God.

Before the 1989 Revolution in Romania, the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement Church was intensely persecuted by the communist regime. Members were gathering in private houses, and they were often interrogated or even sent to jail. After the Revolution, the joy was huge, and in just a few years, many worship places were built throughout the Romanian state.

In Cluj Napoca, the second biggest city in the country, our church members have been blessed with a beautiful and spacious church. The opening date was December 17, 1995, when this house was dedicated to the worship of our God.

Twenty years have passed since then. We thank God for all His care and blessings. Generations change over time. Today, there are just a few brothers remaining from among those who carried the burden to build this church. There is hope that in Cluj we will always have new young people. Besides the locals, many students come here to study from all over Romania as well as from other countries. This community attends and assists both internal and external needs. It offers programs oriented to its members, to young people, and to visitors by including programs of praise, prayer, the study of the prophecies—Daniel and Revelation—children's camps, nutrition and health seminars, evangelism, canvassing, literature distribution in parks, visits to hospitals, and so on.

Recently, on December 11-13, 2015, the church organized an anniversary event. By God's grace, we could say, "Ebenezer!" Yes, twenty years have passed since the chapel in Cluj was first dedicated to God. From then until now, in this building we continue to strengthen our hope that one day we will meet Jesus.

Maybe someday you'll visit our church here. We invite you to come whenever you're in Romania. Just go to Cluj-Napoca, Teleorman street, number 27. You can also find us on Facebook at: AZSMR Cluj - Napoca.

Your brother in the blessed hope, Septimiu David Muresan.
