December 2016: For the Central American Union Education Department

Category:
First Sabbath Offering
Goal Amount:
$40,000.00
Deadline:
January 8, 2017

We believe our highest work on earth is to form characters after the divine likeness. The formation of character is the work of a lifetime, and its development is to continue for eternity. A character formed after the divine similitude is the only treasure we can take from this world to the world to come. This is to be the goal of every true Christian. The work of the church in helping our character development is to “educate, educate, educate.”

The Central American Union has taken the education of our children and young people as one of its most important objectives. Sadly, many of our children and youth who currently lack the opportunity to attend our own church schools are leaving the church with the flow of the world. Aware of this great reality, our brethren and sisters are making a great effort in establishing primary and secondary schools to help our children and youth to have a holistic education, which is in harmony with the divine purpose of Christian education. Through these educational programs, many families have been benefited and more of them are coming to the feet of Jesus in this way.

Unfortunately, our resources are insufficient to continue this great work. However, we rely on the promises of the Lord that He will provide the resources needed to continue this important work we have undertaken with much enthusiasm, keeping in mind the value that “the work of education and the work of redemption are one.”

Dear brothers, sisters, and friends around the world: on behalf of all believers of the Central American Union, we appeal to each of you that your gifts and donations for this First Sabbath Offering be generous and, at the same time, be a great blessing for the education of our children and young people of Central America. Please give generously, and our prayer is that God will recompense you with a double portion of blessings.
